Bad Shirt Club
Client Work - GLO

Project Brief
Over the past two years, I've been deeply involved in the design strategy of Bad Shirt Club, undertaking a wide range of tasks crucial for their brand development and market presence. My responsibilities encompass making effective Email Marketing campaigns, designing impactful Social Media Ads, curating compelling Social Media Content and contributing to various Videography projects. I also managed the design of essential physical assets, including Print Banners and Business Cards, alongside a few Shirt Designs and the Mental Health Toolkit Inserts. A large part of my contribution involved developing and implementing their Brand Guidelines.
Outcomes
A particularly rewarding aspect of this role was seeing numerous campaigns transition from concept to live execution. I gained direct experience in observing their market impact, participating in internal A/B testing for various ads and designs, and conducting quality assessments to refine our creative output. This ever present involvement allowed me to directly connect my design contributions to tangible business results, including the brand's growth and its important mission to raise awareness and funds for mental health. It has been a genuinely enriching creative experience, and I am really proud of the achievements from this period.

Process
Bad Shirt Club was a fundamental experience in my development as a digital designer. My involvement spanned the entire creative lifecycle, from initial concept to final execution. From the outset, I was actively engaged in strategic discussions, collaborating with the main CEO and other team members on campaign briefs and overarching plans. These meetings were crucial for understanding their vision and, for me, invaluable in seeing how creative ideas evolve into actionable strategies, adapting to feedback and results at each stage to make sure our designs were always hitting the mark.
A significant part of my role involved shaping the brand's visual language. This included refining the iconic 'Shithead' logo and establishing a vibrant, consistent aesthetic across all platforms. I then designed a comprehensive set of Brand Guidelines, outlining everything from the carefully selected colour palette to typography and usage rules, ensuring every piece of content felt distinctly 'Bad Shirt Club'.
When it came to product design, particularly the shirts, I found myself exploring deeper into the brand and seeing what direction we could head in for popular themed events. I started developing vectors in Illustrator, directly applying techniques from my university studies. Through design iterations, i was able to translate the brand's wild personality into tangible designs. Beyond static visuals, I brought campaigns to life using After effects, and even designed layouts and user experiences in Figma for various digital touchpoints, including some recent website overhauls.
Collaboration was also key. I worked closely with external photographers to capture the perfect shots of the products in action and partnered with talented UGC Video contents artists to integrate authentic, user-generated content into our campaigns. This blend of in-house design and external expertise continues to demonstrate a rich and diverse visual output for Bad Shirt
Club.
