All About Me.

A Creative Digital Designer

Hi there! I'm Sam, a Creative Digital Designer at GLO - Generate Leads Online.

I guess I’ve always been immersed in the world of design since my sixth-form days when I studied Media, Art, and Psychology. I’ve always had a keen interest in understanding how and why things work, which led me to explore various creative avenues early on, including filming terrible music videos with my first DSLR (a round of applause for the D3100) and working on extracurricular projects like History pin and TedX.

Before leaping head-first into the digital world, I had a bit of a career rollercoaster. I've dabbled in everything from school media technician and commercial sculpting to working on film and TV sets and even running my own wedding videography business. These experiences have given me a bit of a unique perspective and a very diverse skill set for my projects.

Now, as a Creative Digital Designer, I spend my days turning client ideas into usable assets for their respective companies. From making eye-catching brand books to designing bespoke web pages, I love the challenge of bringing concepts to life. While I'm still learning the ropes, I'm constantly exploring new techniques and tools to ensure I'm delivering the best possible results for my clients.

In my spare time, you can probably find me noodling on an instrument, watching new films, discovering Mexican restaurants, or enjoying outdoor adventures with my family's dogs. I'm also a bit of a film nerd, especially when it comes to sci-fi and fantasy classics like Lord of the Rings or Star Wars.

I'm always up for a chat, so feel free to reach out if you have any questions or just want to say hi! And more importantly, please enjoy my ever-growing portfolio.

Previous Work: Weddings

For seven years, I served as a Director of The Photographic Lounge Film, undertaking photography and videography for weddings and local businesses across the UK. This role allowed me to really develop my professional skills, coordinating all aspects from initial concept through to final delivery. During this business ownership, I successfully generated over £50,000 in revenue by producing high-quality wedding videos and subsequent marketing materials. Additionally, I led promotional campaigns that resulted in sold-out events and secured over 100 bookings across various venues.

Previous Work: Sculpting

My five years as a Commercial Sculptor at Aden Hynes Sculptor Studios involved the creation of high-end sculptures of all shapes and sizes. This position demanded a lot flexibility and adaptability, as I participated in the entire creative process, from conception to completion. I helped on multiple projects at the same time, collaborating closely with my team members to make sure project delivery was on time and to client satisfaction. My work in this capacity was formally recognised with a 'highly commended' honour at the Essex Industry Awards in 2015, particularly for projects undertaken for clients such as Nintendo, BBC, HMV, Warner Bros, Angry Birds, and Disney.

Previous Work: Film

My involvement in the film sector has been multifaceted, extending beyond my work with The Photographic Lounge Film to broader Film and TV projects. A notable achievement in this area includes contributing to the production of award-nominated TV/film and music videos, specifically for 'Stop & Search', 'Matchbox', 'Circa Waves', and 'New Amsterdam Vodka'.
